Analysis of the data indicated that the low self actualizing group had the highest rate of conditioning, while the high self actualizing individuals showed a nonsignificant gain in the rate of affective self disclosures during conditioning but were more resistant to extinction as compared to the low and the moderate groups. Presents the procedures, results, and conclusions of a study designed to test the hypothesis of an invariant sequence of classificatory behavior in elementary school students. The study sought to evaluate the extent to which certain objective tests, ward behavior ratings, recorded verbalization scores, and interview behavior ratings possessed convergent and discriminant validity for 10 psychotic syndromes. A modified multitrait-multimethod validation matrix was generated to evaluate the construct validity of the Revised Children's Manifest Anxiety Scale (RCMAS). Results were consistent with the use of RCMAS as a measure of chronic, manifest anxiety levels in children. Large correlations occurred with other trait measures of anxiety. (Author/PN)
