Results indicate that race is an important determinant of white children's social responses to a female adult stranger. For every type of behavior there was a significant race effect on at least one of the indices used to measure it. But the presence or absence of physical handicap did not itself influence subjects' responses. (Author/RC)

Community college students took a variety of personality and sex attitude questionnaires. Results suggest that students in a conservative area who favor liberal sex roles tend to be loners, having a low opinion of themselves and others. The Edwards Personal Preference Schedule was used to examine the relation of the sex role stereotypes held by college men and women to the objective measurement of these stereotyped characteristics. This study investigated the relationship between internal and external locus of control in subjects in a verbal learning experiment. A sample of 435 junior education majors in a large Southwestern university were given the 16 Personality Factor Questionnaire and the Opinion Scale.
