Self-report measures are positively related to the masculine Bem Sex Role Inventory (BSRI) and are similar for males and females. The BSRI scores are positively related to other group members' evaluations of female leadership performance, but not males. Findings point to the complexities associated with sex-role research. The only effective treatment is early prevention, culturally, socially, and behaviorally. Children must understand that all excesses are bad. Being bad is sometimes good. The utility of personality measures as predictors of voluntary withdrawal from college was investigated. Four criterion groups were formed: high-achieving persisters and withdrawals, and low-achieving persisters and withdrawals. Two significant discriminant functions were found and interpreted as academic aptitude and social immaturity. (Author/GK)
