Lack of confidence, failure to ask key questions, nervous mannerisms, talkativeness, and failure to elaborate on answers were the most common behaviors. Charts were reviewed to identify the characteristics of 511 prepubertal children brought to a Montreal, Quebec (Canada) pediatric hospital for evaluation regarding alleged sexual abuse.
