A study was conducted with seventh grade students to investigate sex differential of scores on the Short Test of Educational Ability in predicting academic performance. No significant sex differences were found. (Author/EK)

In a recent study, Levine concluded that there was a lack of support for the concept of constricted versus flexible cognitive control. It is suggested that this conclusion is misleading in view of issues concerning the logic of the derived predictions and the statistical power of the study. (Author)

The two subtests of level four of the School and College Ability Tests for school grades 6-8 are shown to predict freshmen grades in three Southern Negro colleges considerably better than did the Scholastic Aptitude Test. (JM)

The 1975 predictions made by William Rhodes concerning the mental health system are critiqued. It is suggested that Rhodes' predictions represent a utopian view and that he underestimated both the power of conservative social stability and the social reality on which the stability is based. (SEW)

A computerized budget projection program developed for faculty use in proposal preparation is described. The three budget components are global budget parameters, personnel, and other direct operating costs. Efficiency of budget preparation is greatly increased, especially for multiple-year budgets.
