Examined the multidimensional structure of the Piers-Harris Self-Concept Scale among 438 predominantly black gifted children in grades one through nine. Results showed six clearly defined orthogonal factors emerged, but these factors differed from those reported by Piers and Harris. (Author)

The Endler S-R Inventory of General Trait Anxiousness was analyzed employing Smallest Space Analysis (SSA) and factor analysis. The SSA yielded a two-dimensional lattice partitioning the space into regions corresponding to the situations specified in the inventory. The Survey of Reading Attitudes-Primary Level was administered orally to 269 first-grade, 240 second-grade, and 236 third-grade students. The responses were factored separately by grade using a principal factor method with varimax rotation.
