Edgell, Stephen E.; Castellan, N. John, Jr. – Journal of Experimental Psychology, 1973
In a nonmetric multiple-cue probability learning task involving 2 binary cue dimensions, it was found that Ss can learn to use configural or pattern information (a) when only the configural information is relevant, and in addition to the configural information, one or both of the cue dimensions are relevant. Oliver, Peter R.; And Others – Journal of Experimental Education, 1973
Sixty prereaders were trained to discriminate the graphemes within words by having them assemble the words using only those graphemes that corresponded to the phonemic structure of the words. (Author)

Mondani, Michele S.; And Others – Journal of Experimental Psychology, 1973
The present experiment attempted to restrict processing by requiring Ss to process the material either orthographically or taxonomically in a reaction time situation, which should place constraints upon additional processing. (Author)

Tzeng, Ovid J. L. – Journal of Experimental Psychology, 1973
Study suggested that a new research orientation be followed, that is, in addition to studying to learn the investigator of memory should start to establish the empirical laws of learning to forget. (Editor/RK)

Levin, Joel R.; And Others – Journal of Educational Psychology, 1973
Results lend partial support to the proposition that the effectiveness of a particular rehearsal strategy depends on the degree to which it provides a discriminative cue for the materials on hand: With homonym pairs, imagery constituted such a discriminative cue, while vocalization did not; with synonym pairs, the converse was true. Moore, Jeffrey J.; Massaro, Dominic W. – Journal of Experimental Psychology, 1973
The purpose of this experiment was to determine whether two dimensions of a single auditory stimulus are processed as competing channels of information, and if they are, whether S can selectively attend to one dimension specified at the beginning of a trial. (Author)

Brehmer, Berndt – American Journal of Psychology, 1973
The present study is concerned with some aspects of the process of interpersonal learning, specifically, to make inductive inferences - to use a set of probabilistic cues to infer the state of criterion variable. (Author/RK)

Tulving, Endel; Thomson, Donald M. – Psychological Review, 1973
The purpose of the present paper was to examine and describe the early state of the art of the development of theories of retrieval, one of the important objectives of research on memory. (Author/RK)

Montanelli, Dale Soderman – Developmental Psychology, 1972
The specific hypothesis tested by this research is that children are able to attend to multiple cues simultaneously and are able to use the information contained in these cues. (Author)
