Asendorpf, Jens B. – Child Development, 1991
A total of 87 children were observed in play with unfamiliar peers at 4, 6, and 8 years of age, and judged by their parents for inhibition. Vion, Monique – Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, 1992
The effects of intonation morphemes on the processing of simple reversible sentences containing a dislocated element were studied using synthetic speech stimuli. Holmes, Robyn M. – Child Study Journal, 1992
Explored the use of 5 and 11 year olds' artwork to investigate their knowledge of nonverbal communication and social distance. Cooney, Teresa M; Uhlenberg, Peter – Social Forces, 1992
Examines changes in level and types of support that children receive from parents, from young through middle age, using data from National Survey of Families and Households. Blewitt, Pamela; Toppino, Thomas C. – Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, 1991
Recall of "to-be-remembered items" benefited from schematically related, superordinate, and slot filler cues, but not coordinate cues. The relative strength of different relationships does not appear to change with age. Findings are consistent with the view that lexical memory is schematically and taxonomically organized from early…

Hagan, Margaret Stanley; And Others – Monographs of the Society for Research in Child Development, 1992
Over time, mother-child relationships in families with remarried mothers grew increasingly similar to those in families whose parents had never divorced. Relationships in single-mother families remained different from those in the other two types of families. Stepfathers were less likely to be authoritative than were nondivorced fathers. (BC)
