Correlation of the Learning Environment Inventory with a semantic differential attitude test indicated that three learning environment variables (goal direction, satisfaction, and classroom organization) fostered positive attitudes toward chemistry. Canadian seventh-graders were given intelligence, mathematics, and English tests. These scores and their class grades were compared with personality questionnaire measures of aggression, self-concept, and attitudes. Relations among ego development, views of education, and academic performance were examined in a sample of 58 adult learners who were teachers studying to be guidance counselors.
