Delaney, Harold D.; Maxwell, Scott E. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1981
The use of analysis of covariance in conjunction with the multivariate approach to analyzing repeated measures designs is considered for designs involving between- and within-subject factors, one dependent variable, and one observation per subject on the covariate. (Author/RL)

Hedges, Larry V.; Majer, Kenneth – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1976
The effect of adding a high school rating factor to high school grade point average and aptitude test scores in predicting freshman grade point average for minority students was investigated. The rating factor, based on prior students' performances from the same high school, added little to the prediction equation. (JKS)

Cohen, Stephen L.; Penner, Louis A. – Personnel Psychology, 1976
In a recent article in this journal (EJ 130 391) Siegel and Bergman described a "miniature job training and evaluation" approach to performance prediction. This research highlights their methodology's strengths and weaknesses in light of standard procedures recommended in developing any set of predictors. (Author/RK)

Frey, Joseph, III; And Others – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1976
Attempts to establish further the validity of the Child Scale, to investigate the individual nature of the items that compose the scale and their value as demographic factors in the prediction of therapeutic outcome, and to document further the use of target complaints as criteria in investigating the outcome of psychotherapy. (Author/RK)

Feild, Hubert S. – Measurement and Evaluation in Guidance, 1977
A longitudinal study was conducted to determine whether students' life history or biographical data could be used to predict their experiences in college. Significant relationships were found between the students' life history data and their subsequent college experiences. (Author)

Bayer, Alan E. – Journal of Marriage and the Family, 1977
Bivariate analyses, based on a national cross-sectional sample of college students, demonstrate weak relationships between socioeconomic background measures and two indicators of sexual permissiveness. Salient predictors of permissiveness are political preference, religion, and region of location for women or cognitive achievement for men. (Author)

Daly, Edward J., III; Wright, James A.; Kelly, Susan Q.; Martens, Brian K. – School Psychology Quarterly, 1997
Investigated the reliability- and criterion-related validity of 11 curriculum-based measures of early academic skills. Analysis of 30 first-grade students suggest that some measures displayed better reliability and validity than others. Discusses the measures' practical utility in light of their technical characteristics and the need for further…

Leigh, Terrence M.; And Others – Academic Medicine, 1990
Results of two certification examinations were analyzed for the cohorts of physicians who had taken in-training examinations as first, second, and third year residents. Multiple regression analysis showed that the composite score and all but one part-score were independently predictive of performance on the certification examination. (Author/MLW)

Kingery, Paul M.; Glasgow, Russell E. – Health Education (Washington D.C.), 1989
Findings from a study of 127 outpatients with noninsulin dependent diabetes mellitus indicate that self-efficacy and outcome expectations are moderately strong predictors of self-care in the exercise regimen, but weaker predictors in the dietary and glucose testing areas. (IAH)

Gupta, J. K.; And Others – Journal of Experimental Education, 1989
A model was developed for estimating individuals' true changes on test scores using the additional information provided by an auxiliary variable correlated with a trait being measured. This provides an improved and more precise estimate when compared with simple difference scores. It involves the reliability of "X" scores only. (SLD)
