Discusses research conducted to validate six new or completely revised tests in the Ohio vocational achievement testing program. Results showed a high degree of internal consistency at the total test level and at the subtest level as well. (CT)

The results of this study indicate that there were significant differences in the social behaviors of field dependent and independent students in a personalized system of instruction course. Since students did not differ in achievement, this suggests that social behavior may be one way students adapt to various instructional settings. (SK)

The nature of the aptitude-treatment interaction between spatial visualization ability and instructional treatment in mathematics was investigated. No significant positive correlation was observed between the aptitude measures (spatial visualization test) and the outcome measures (algebra structures exam). (CJ)

The accuracy of manual and academic variables in predicting preclinical operative technique was evaluated. Correlations were low, but significant using the Perceptual Motor Ability Test (PMAT) of the Dental Admission Test. A survey of 164 college students assessed their aptitudes, performance, outside work commitments as well as their perception of their environment, satisfaction, and affective and somatic complaints. Reports a study wherein a foreign language aptitude test was used to group German students beginning English language instruction in three types of German intermediate schools. The utility of personality measures as predictors of voluntary withdrawal from college was investigated. Four criterion groups were formed: high-achieving persisters and withdrawals, and low-achieving persisters and withdrawals.
