Strong-Campbell Interest Inventory answer sheets for 300 male university freshmen were scored via both the 1981 and 1985 scoring systems. Communalities of the profiles generated by the two scoring systems indicated considerable profile variance. Counselors should thoroughly understand changes made in the new instrument. (Author/NB)

Forty adolescent subjects were administered the Woodcock Reading Mastery Tests. The Passage Comprehension Test for each subject was rescored using three different ceiling criteria. Multiple matrix sampling is applied to a variation of Angoff's standard setting method. Thirty-six experts (internists) and 190 items were divided into five groups, and borderline examinee performance was estimated. Misreadings of pencil answer marks on test answer sheets by optical scanners cause scoring errors. Twenty-six different pencils were tested for readability differences when optically scanned. Complete light and dark marks scanned perfectly for 18 pencils. Totals for all six mark types ranged from 947 to 1726 out of 1800. (BS)
