Clerehan, Rosemary – English for Specific Purposes, 1995
This study examined notes taken by 29 undergraduate native and non-native speakers of English during a lecture on commercial law. Two experiments with native Japanese-speaking English majors are reported that explored the absolute and relative effectiveness of syntactic simplification and repetition on listening comprehension.
