Robinson, Edward A.; Gillespie, Ronald J. – Journal of Chemical Education, 1980
Considers carbon-carbon multiple bonds in terms of Pauling's bent bond model, which allows direct calculation of double and triple bonds from the length of a CC single bond. Lengths of these multiple bonds are estimated from direct measurements on "bent-bond" models constructed of plastic tubing and standard kits. (CS)

Kennedy, Keith – Journal of Chemical Education, 1979
Questions are analyzed from various ACS-NSTA High School Chemistry Tests. Results show more than 50 percent of test questions deal with only six concepts and 70 percent evaluate aspects of only nine concepts. Results may be useful to teachers of college preparatory chemistry regarding subject matter and math operations. (Author/SA)
