Data from national surveys by the American Sociological Association contrast what deans say about their support of teaching and what department chairs and faculty members perceive to be the level of administrative support for teaching in their institutions. The effect of field-dependence-independence (FDI) on subject-matter achievement and mastery of inquiry skills was explored using a partially balanced design. No significant F values were found in the analysis of variance for either the main effects or the covariates: past achievement, teaching mode, and minutes of instruction. (Author/CT)

Veterinarians were surveyed to determine topics that were overemphasized in their professional education, topics that should have been emphasized more, and specific changes that would improve veterinary education. The survey results are tabulated. (BH)
