Indexes to literature published in English-language little magazines are analyzed for duplication and completeness of coverage, and the number of little magazines founded since 1900 is estimated to determine the extent of literary work accessible by means of indexes. A 50-item annotated list of information sources and 12 references are included.

Methods for determining core anthropological journals are reviewed, including basic lists, user studies, and citation analysis. Merits and limitations of each method are assessed. Twenty-six references are cited. (EJS)

The citation frequencies found in the journal literature for 51 Carnegie Commission sponsored research reports were compared with 51 Jossey-Bass publications. Little or no difference was found in the quality of the journals that cite either type of publication. (Author/MLW)
