This article reviews the housing situation in Washington, D.C., from 1954 to the present. Statistics show the intensity of White flight from the inner city to the suburbs from 1960 to 1970. The effects of the subsequent return of Whites to the inner city, a reverse trend beginning in 1975, are discussed. (MC)

If 1970-77 trends in academic salaries and the poverty level threshold persist, it is suggested, lower-ranking American academicians may expect to enter the ranks of the working poor in the eighties. Some evidence is presented and some options and alternatives are discussed. (MLW)

A study of 1980 medical school faculties, based on faculty statistics on the Faculty Roster System of the Association of American Medical Colleges, is discussed. This situation has contributed to the restricted access of Puerto Ricans to government-sponsored programs and to public services, such as education, that are necessary for social equality. In the study reported, the labor force characteristics of the nation's 16.2 million teen-agers (aged 16 to 19) are reviewed and evaluated for three types of area: central cities, suburban rings, and nonmetropolitan areas.
