Hubbard, Sherry P.; Ashlock, Robert B. – Arithmetic Teacher, 1977
Symbols and shapes used in flowcharting are defined, reasons for incorporating flowcharts into instructional activities are listed, and eight different flowcharts are presented. (DT)
Descriptors: Algorithms, Elementary Education, Elementary School Mathematics, Flow Charts
Golen, Steven – Journal of Business Education, 1982
This report describes and flowcharts the process of the paper work flow at a hypothetical automotive parts business from the disbursement of funds to the updating of the inventory records, in order to supply business students with a lesson in using the data processor. (CT)

Emond, W. J. – Computers and Education, 1982
Describes the use of programs written in BASIC and graphics facilities of microcomputers to make students aware of the assumptions of statistical models in linear regression and the design of experiments. Two references are cited. (CHC)
Descriptors: Computer Graphics, Flow Charts, Microcomputers, Models

Atkinson, George F. – Journal of Chemical Education, 1982
A flow chart is used to illustrate analytical chemistry as a component of a problem-solving process. Beginning with a problem, the flow chart proceeds to the question, experimental design, experiments, data treatment, answer, and solution. Another flow chart is used to expand on experimental design. (Author/SK)
Descriptors: Chemistry, College Science, Flow Charts, Higher Education
Sorenson, David S. – Journal of Experiential Learning and Simulation, 1981
Describes the simulation game "Nuclear Deterrence," which was developed to model an international relations crisis situation involving a bargaining framework potentially applicable to crisis modeling in other disciplines. Eight references are listed. (Author/LLS)
Descriptors: Decision Making, Decision Making Skills, Educational Games, Experiential Learning
Lindenlaub, John C.; Russell, James D. – Engineering Education, 1980
Provides a model with which to view the instructional process and the teaching activities within it. Presents a flow chart to aid information on improvement of instruction. Stresses the importance of viewing improvement as a continuous process and utilizing feedback. (SMB)
Descriptors: Annotated Bibliographies, Educational Research, Engineering Education, Flow Charts

Locatis, Craig N.; Atkinson, Francis D. – Simulation and Games, 1981
Gives recommendations for training college and university faculty in the fundamentals of simulation design using short, concise training programs. Thirteen references are listed. (Author/LLS)

Brillhart, Lia – Computers and Education, 1980
Describes computer utilization in the engineering curriculum at a community college, placing special emphasis on meeting the needs of student learning styles. (Author/CMV)
Descriptors: Cognitive Style, Community Colleges, Computer Oriented Programs, Curriculum Development
Merrill, Paul F. – NSPI Journal, 1980
Describes ways in which algorithms which refer to underlying procedures should be represented in order to improve communication in educational and/or training materials. Representations of linear procedures, decision rule procedures, and complex procedures are provided. (MER)
Descriptors: Algorithms, Bibliographies, Decision Making Skills, Flow Charts

Snover, Stephen L.; Spikell, Mark A. – Mathematics Teacher, 1979
Solutions to difficult equations are illustrated with numerical techniques that can be used easily on calculators. Flowcharts and programs for computers and calculators are included. (MP)

Poltrock, Steven E.; Hunt, Earl – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance, 1977
A phonetic confusion model and some procedural artifacts were eliminated as sources for individual differences in fusion rate. Results of these two experiments were consistent with the hypothesis that individual differences in fusion rate are due to differences in perceptual dependence on linguistic rules. (Editor/RK)

Brigell, Mitchell; And Others – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance, 1977
A multiple regression analysis of sequential effects in magnitude estimation and absolute identification is presented as an alternative to the approach used by Lockhead and his students. The new analysis indicates that sequential effects do not extend over more than one trial. (Editor)
Descriptors: Auditory Perception, Experimental Psychology, Flow Charts, Multiple Regression Analysis

Chapman, Loren J.; And Others – Journal of Abnormal Psychology, 1976
True-false scales were devised to measure anhedonia, the lowered ability to experience pleasure. The scales were Physical Anhedonia (40 items) and Social Anhedonia (48 items). (Editor)

Stevens, David A.; Wixon, D. R. – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Animal Behavior Processes, 1976
Three experiments were performed to test the assertion that attractiveness of novel or complex stimuli has confounded experiments on the relative importance of S+ and S- in discrete-trial discrimination. (Editor)

Wardlaw, Kirk A.; Kroll, Neal E. A. – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance, 1976
Names of cities were shock associated and then embedded in material presented to the nonattended channel in a dichotic listening and shadowing situation. A test for conditioning followed the dichotic listening task. Comparisons are made with other studies of galvanic skin responses to unattended words. (Editor/RK)
