This study produced an empirical description of environmental quality in reference to residential use by taking item responses of 2,541 residents of the San Francisco Bay Area and subjecting them to factor analysis. Twenty factors which provide a definition of environmental quality were produced. (BT)

The morale of Blacks in central areas of cities is found to be higher than that of whites and movement from one area to another was found to affect the morale of only those residents with relatively little education. The results of the study indicate that model reinforcement counseling was effective in reducing the proportion of minimal goal discrepant children. The counseling helped the students set realistic goals with which they could be satisfied. The greatest amount of change took place in an inner city school. (Author)
