Changes in attitudes of first-year medical students after a seminar on aging and health are described. Students' attitudes toward the elderly were assessed before and one year after the seminar. Over 13 weeks during two periods in 1978 the diagnostic rate for acute otitis media was monitored among febrile children in the emergency room of a large children's hospital.
