Investigated the effects of the following strategies on high school students' response to literature: (1) creative drama exercises; (2) teacher-directed lecture discussions; and (3) self-directed small groups. Found no significant differences; however, there was adequate evidence to support creative drama as a viable learning approach. (PD)

The development and validation of a system teaching problem-solving in pharmacotherapeutics is described. The module was developed for both small group and self-instruction using clinical cases in hypertension. Results show the method to be an effective means of teaching therapeutic information focusing on patient situations. (MSE)

The URTSA emcompasses group-dynamic as well as other relations training. The first two steps of relations training--"external and internal courses"--do not produce observable effects at group and organizational levels, but are necessary preliminaries. Regardless of the complexity of issues or the instructor's fallibility, the instructure must make decisions around group problems of: (1) process v content; (2) purpose; and (3) format. These tensions mirror the tensions consultants face in work in schools. Coping with them may mean student consultants are better prepared. (JAC)

Academic achievement of pupils working in small cooperation groups was compared to that of students taught in the traditional whole-class approach.
