Results demonstrate that the Inventory of Dramatic Behavior Adapted for Group Observation (IDBG) is a valid and useful instrument for assessing the dramatic behavior of elementary school children. (PD)

Studied the risk-taking behavior (i.e., smoking, intemperate drinking, and failure to fasten seat belts) of 4,539 Canadian adolescents. Results showed adolescents who lived in intact families engaged in less health-risk behavior than adolescents from separated or divorced families. Results from widowed families were mixed. (JAC)

Investigated the relationship between verbal behavior patterns and supervisor (N=9) and trainee (N=30) judgments of satisfaction in the supervision interview. Tested an expectations-based model of the cognitive processes leading to communication apprehension. Found that expectations are a significant predictor of communication apprehension as measured by self-reports. Also important were communicative goals and the interaction of expected outcome and goal importance. (PD)

Leisure participation patterns among Mexican-Americans were studied and compared to participation patterns among Anglo-Americans. Both groups demonstrated similar patterns in terms of the extensiveness and frequency of their participation. Influences of language, social isolation, and kinship groups are discussed. (Author/PP)

An instrument was devised to test three components of leisure attitudes: cognitive, affective, and behavioral. A final test was administered to 1,042 subjects. The results supported the use of the three components in testing for leisure attitudes. (FG)
