Conventional swimming pools have been built with the needs of competitive swimmers in mind. Planners in several European countries have greatly increased swimming pool attendance by designing "leisure pools," based primarily on the needs and behavior of recreationists. Designed for the handicapped, Will-A-Way Recreation Area in Fort Yargo State Park at Winder (Georgia) contains a day use area, cottages, and a group camp. Accessibility features were incorporated in 17 design aspects, including flooring, windows, toilets, showers, walks, lighting, games, equipment, and the beach area and fishing bridge. (RW)

Describes three examples of the adaptation of an existing structure to meet library needs in Pennsylvania--a supermarket in Brookville, a Victorian residence in Franklin, and a bank in Haverford Township--noting location considerations, architect assistance, and library usage. Presents a procedure for designing management simulation games in which a series of progressively detailed documents describing the game are prepared until a blueprint of the developed game has been created.
