A graduate course in educational philosophy, having a uniform number of hours and the same instructor, was taken by eight different groups over three different periods of time: 15 weeks, 7-8 weeks, or 4 weekends. An examination of professional pharmacy literature was undertaken to determine types of statistical terminology and analyses presented and compare these with the results of a survey to determine the statistical backgrounds of graduates of schools that grant the Doctor of Pharmacy and/or Master of Science in Hospital Pharmacy. This manometer is a modification of a design reported previously. It contains simplifications in the design of the manometer itself and in the associated electrical circuit. The apparatus is useful in the study of gas-phase reaction kinetics. (BB)

The first D.A. programs appeared in 1967 at Carnegie-Mellon University, but the degree is now offered in 24 institutions and nearly 500 degrees have been granted. A statistical study of 90 students entering the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy in 1974 indicates that PCAT scores are clearly superior predictors over these scores: SAT-Verbal and -Math; college quality point average (QPA); Otis Quick-Scoring Mental Ability Test; and pharmacy course grade.
