Discusses three perspectives concerning counseling center use and examines characteristics of students who seek counseling (N=609). Results indicated that compared to nonclients, service users were disproportionately women, underclassmen, dormitory residents, and liberal arts majors. (JAC)

Examined health service utilization by 4,800 Canadian elderly. Findings suggested that most elderly are healthy and are infrequent users of services. Identifies a minority of very high users of health care and discusses the potential influence of physicians on health care use by the elderly. (JAC)

Described rural-urban differences in health care utilization between 1971 and 1977 in 3,628 Manitoba elderly. Despite disparities in reported income and in the distribution of physician resources, ambulatory care use did not differ greatly.
