Heather Erika Bee
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Freed-Hardeman University
This quantitative study explored the self-efficacy beliefs and responsibility beliefs of 281 teachers from 30 schools in West Tennessee according to how they were trained. The Teacher Responsibility Survey was utilized to collect data and determine whether statistically significant differences existed in the self-efficacy and responsibility beliefs of teachers certified traditionally or alternatively. Data revealed that traditionally certified teachers had a greater sense of self-efficacy while alternatively certified teachers had a greater sense of responsibility. Furthermore, findings revealed that self-efficacy and responsibility beliefs were statistically significantly different among male and female teachers.
