The way a medical student perceives the sexual attitudes of physicians in general may affect what is learned from medical school sex education and the manner in which such learning is applied later with patients. Introduces the concept of extreme interpersonal sensitivity and reviews literature relating to it. The concept is only indirectly alluded to by family theorists. Results indicated that perceived quality of and satisfaction with decisions were higher in underload than overload conditions. Subjects also perceived greater satisfaction for decisions made using the oral mode of communication, but they perceived higher quality for decisions made using the written mode. (PD)

Results from this investigation of teacher beliefs about various facets of the broad-ranging perceptual deficit hypothesis and its relationship to reading and learning problems indicate that there is a large discrepancy between publication of research efforts and widespread awareness or acceptance of these results by practitioners. Three experiments examined the perception of a three-way voicing contrast by monolingual speakers of English. The results demonstrate that the perceptual mechanisms used by adults in categorizing stop consonants can be modified easily with simple laboratory techniques in a short period of time. (Author/PN)
