Studied the effectiveness of a five and one-half day workshop and an alternate three and one-half day workshop on organization development in developing a more democratic style of leadership in Illinois park and recreation supervisory personnel. The shorter workshop resulted in a more positive leadership style change than the longer one. (JJD)

Examines the change in professed attitudes of supervisory personnel in a southeastern state's government agencies toward employee grievance procedures after a workshop training program. Results of a questionnaire administered four months after the workshop show that a positive attitude towards grievance handling persisted. (JJD)

Studied the effects of a model inservice workshop on teachers' (N=98) predispositions and attitudes toward arts education. Workshop sessions, on a rotating schedule, were conducted by professional consultants during one week. A differential psychological survey of about 100 Swedish mentally retarded young people in the 18-25 age group was carried out between 1966-1971 and again about 10 years later to clarify the meaning of social adjustment in middle age. Methodological problems are examined and preliminary results of the analysis are discussed. (BRR)

Describes the philosophy and activities of the Adaptation, Development, and Placement Training Day Program, designed to provide mental health services to clients dually diagnosed as mentally retarded and mentally ill. Suggestions are given for organizing workshops to train school personnel to administer the Health Related Physical Fitness Test (HRPFT) of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
