The social relationships and leisure activities of a representative national sample of 336 persons with mental retardation living in 181 small foster or group homes were evaluated. Cardiovascular risk factors in 57 healthy older individuals were measured (blood pressure, lipids and lipoproteins, and lifestyle behaviors) via a personal health questionnaire.
