Otten, Mark W. – Journal of Personality Assessment, 1977
Rotter's Internal External Locus of Control Scale and Ezekiel's Personal Future Autobiography were administered to 45 freshmen and 45 graduate students. Although the two tests had negative nonsignificant correlations, both tests were positively correlated with academic achievement (specifically, graduation within five years) for the internal locus…

Anthony, W. S. – British Journal of Educational Psychology, 1977
Correlations between extraversion and ability typically change from positive to negative at about 13-14 years. A method for analyzing this change is developed and applied to Rushton's (1969) data from his longitudinal study of 266 children of above-average intelligence, whom he tested at 10-11 years and again at 15-16 years of age. Loehlin, John C. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1987
Scores were obtained on 31 item-clusters from the California Psychological Inventory for 490 identical and 317 same-sex fraternal twin pairs from the National Merit twin sample. Ordinary and cross-pair correlations were calculated and used to derive three matrices hypothesized to reflect the influence of genes, shared environment, and unshared…

Smith, Glen A.; McPhee, K. A. – Intelligence, 1987
Timed performance measures from a coincidence timing task taking about 10 minutes are shown to have significant correlations with psychometric general intelligence in a group of 56 children. The mean absolute error across three conditions correlated -.294 with Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices scores but was sex-biased, with girls being less…

Games, Paul A.; Hedges, Larry V. – Journal of Experimental Education, 1987
Variance stabilizing transformations yield statistics whose standard errors are only influenced by the number of observations on which they are based. A solution that can be extended to inference on all of these parameters is presented and illustrated via three examples. (TJH)

Omizo, Michael M.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1987
The relationship was examined between six scales of the Locus of Control for Three Achievement Domains (LOCITAD), the Nowicki-Strickland Locus of Control Scale, and the Rotter Internal-External Scale. Subjects were 140 adolescent boys and girls. Significant correlations provided some support for LOCITAD's validity. (Author/GDC)

One personality variable--reactivity--predicted total problem behavior for the LD group, although reactivity and social flexibility predicted variance in…

The correlation between extended high-frequency thresholds and caloric responses was studied in 52 dizzy patients, aged 15-84. Results showed no strong tonotopic relation between the audiometric data and unilateral weakness of the caloric response, but indicated a subtle trend for eye velocity to increase as a function of increasing hearing…
