Ernhart, Claire B.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1980
The McCarthy Scales of Children's Abilities (MSCA) was administered to 80 urban black preschoolers. Five years later, 68 of these children were retested. This investigation demonstrated the predictive validity of the MSCA for urban black children against several criterion measures, including scores on elementary school reading tests. (Author/GK)

A comparison of identity status, locus of control, and ego stage development was completed using 294 college students. Identity achievement students were found to be more advanced in their ego stage development and level of internality, while diffusion students were less advanced. Pairs of brothers were individually examined with Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale some 10 months apart by an experienced clinical psychologist unaware of the consanguineous relationship. Examined subgroups of people in relation to specific types of drugs. Multiple drug clusters identified here yielded six basic drug clusters. Pursell, Elliott D.; And Others – Personnel Psychology, 1980
Results of an eight-hour training program designed to minimize rating errors supported the hypothesis that low correlations were a result of rating errors made by supervisors. Of the five predictors, four correlated significantly with the performance ratings that were conducted after the supervisors had received the training. (Author)

For 71 Israeli first graders, a significant correlation was obtained between creativity and decrease in repression. The various subtests and the four dimensions of creativity were separately analyzed in relation to anxiety and repression. The percentage of variance in achievement accounted for by IQ greatly decreased as the subgroups became more removed from the mean IQ for the sample. Results suggest that definition and placement decisions based on IQ be reconsidered for populations whose mean IQ is substantially above or below the average IQ. (DB)
