An estimated ITPA Psychological Quotient (PQ) was compared to the WISC-R Verbal, Performance, and Full Scale IQs of developmentally disabled children, ages 6 to 13. The PQ related strongly to Verbal and Full Scale IQs. Implications for diagnosis and screening are discussed. (Author/SJL)

The four personality scales measured by the instrument, and the scoring process are described, and an extensive review of the intercorrelation, reliability, and validity research is presented. It was hypothesized that teachers who were primarily self-supporting and those with blue collar work experience only prior to graduation would have lower rates of attrition, and that those with high occupational aspirations would show a high rate of attrition. (Author/RK)

Primary school children were administered the Draw-A-Design and Draw-A Child subtests of the McCarthy Scales of Children's Abilities in a group setting. Results suggest that the McCarthy drawing tests may be administered validly in a group format, and that these scores are significantly related to school achievement. (Author/BW)

One hundred thirty-six pupils, aged 14-15 years, were given "general creativity" tests and "mathematical creativity" tests. Correlations between the two kinds of tests were near zero suggesting that creativity within mathematics is a specific ability. (MN)

The construct validity of four measures of reflection-impulsivity was examined using a multitrait-multimethod procedure on sample of six to twelve year old educable mentally retarded children. The results indicate a minimal level of construct validity. (Author/JKS)

Four methods of computing life change for one- and two-year periods were tested with two measures of college grades. The relationship between life change and grades appears to be that of a threshold effect. Above a certain level of life change, increasing change is inversely related to grades. (Author/BW)

Results showed that significantly more accurate predictions of academic performance were obtained for lower fear of failure students and for students who perceived their present course grades as more important to their career plans than those who did not. (Author/DEP)

The concurrent validity of the KIT was evaluated by correlating it with other tests of intellectual, perceptual, social, linguistic and psycholinguistic functioning, using a sample of 106 retardates. Positive correlations between the KIT and these other measures attest to its potential usefulness as a measure of intelligence. (Author)

The results of this study suggest that discussions about alienated youths retreating to drugs may be oversimplified; it is possible that drugs have become such an acceptable part of the youth culture that alienation has little to do with overall consumption. (JD)
