The relation between Loevinger's measure of ego development and moral development as indexed by Rest's Defining Issue Test was examined in a sample of 517 adolescents between 12 and 21 years of age. The Multidimensional-Multiattributional Causality Scale and the Mathematics Attribution Scale were administered to 107 gifted high school students. Both scales' assessments of the attribution of school success and failure to effort and ability were significantly correlated. Limited support for their convergent validity was indicated. Field dependence and spatial ability are examined as different labels for a common underlying dimension. Sixty college students completed two tests of field dependence and two tests of spatial ability. The effects of family structure and parental discord on the self-esteem of 199 female undergraduates were investigated. Family structure and happiness ratings were substantially related, with those separated rated as less happy. From analysis of data from 579 school districts it is concluded that financial ratios have the ability to forecast fiscal distress a year in advance.
