Three years of experience with summer workshops led the authors to summarize the development of an effective program and to conclude that this approach to teacher training carries the seeds of long-term success for inservice education as well as for need curricular implementation. (JB)

The class, Women Throughout History,'' was taught as a pilot course in summer school for the Wm. S. Hart School District (Newhall-Saugas, California). The objective was to examine the history, the stereotype, and the role of modern woman. The activities provided are outlined. (JB)
