Additionally, the study looks at the use/cost aspect and closes by noting some of the implications of the study for more rational decision-making and inter-library cooperation. Library peer evaluation for promotion and special merit increase was introduced at the Bouillon Library, Central Washington State College, in the 1971-72 academic year. Findings of a survey concerning the poetry selections that teachers of grades 4, 5, and 6 read to their pupils are reported. Results suggest a need to cultivate an improved awareness and appreciation of more contemporary poetry through children's literature courses taught by library schools and education departments.
