A simple hypnotic procedure to treat test anxiety is described that was used successfully with medical students and residents at the Wake Forest University Medical Center. A light trace is obtained and then the student is told to take such a hypnotic "journey" the evening prior to the test. (MLW)

A high (70 percent) consistency rate in career choices designated as primary care and nonprimary care over this time span was recorded. Medical school programs may strengthen existing preferences. The prevalence of anxiety and depression in clinic patients, residents' ability to identify these affects, and accuracy of patients' responses to simple questions about them were investigated at a University of Virginia clinic. Neither patient nor resident assessments were found to be very accurate, but together they are more effective. (MSE)
