Describes project for secondary school students which results in a written political analysis of a neighborhood. Students begin by reading modern historical, political, and sociological studies of communities in urban areas. The Learning Exchange System, or Learnxs, was created in Toronto in 1973 as a three-year demonstration project concerned with the use of informal community-based learning resources for individual and group learning. The system produced a detailed directory of organizations, places, and individuals which could offer learning experiences. (JN)

This investigation sought to establish how documentation of relevant unpaid work experience can be reliably rated by administrators, and how well these ratings correlate with other assessments of administrative skills.
