Hattie, John; Rogers, H. Jane – Journal of Educational Psychology, 1986
This article demonstrates that the usual first-order factor model is inappropriate for analyzing the factor structure of creativity and intelligence tests. An alternative model that allows for the estimation of unique covariance between the fluency and originality scores is proposed. (Author/JAZ)

Lueger, Robert J.; And Others – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1985
Examined neuropsychological and academic achievement correlates of statistically abnormal verbal-performance discrepancies on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (Revised). Results indicated that abnormal discrepancies reflect specific aphasia deficits rather than generalized neuropsychological dysfunction and that academic achievement…

Sinclair, Esther; Alexson, Joyce – Learning Disabilities Research, 1986
Five formulas for identifying discrepancies for eligibility as learning disabled (LD) were applied to 137 children (ages 6-14) already diagnosed as LD. Among results cited was that 64 percent were not identified as LD by any formula. Issues concerning the use of discrepancy formulas for LD screening are discussed. (Author/JW)

Rose, David H.; And Others – Intelligence, 1986
This study investigated whether measures of habituation and dishabituation in early infancy predicted later intelligence. Results were compared with those from other comparable studies. It was argued that the psychometric acceptability of infant cognitive measures needs to be demonstrated before they can be considered to be potential predictors.…

Wade, Deborah Lee; And Others – Psychology in the Schools, 1986
The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) was administered to 56 learning disabled children, using standard assessment procedures and format as outlined by Wechsler. Abbreviated Intelligence Quotient (IQ) scores were then derived by applying the Kennedy-Elder (K-E) formula. Frequent IQ classification changes rendered the K-E…
