Cranton, Patricia; Smith, Ronald A. – Journal of Educational Psychology, 1990
The underlying structure of student ratings of instruction was explored by using 3 units of analysis: (1) individual ratings from 42,407 college students; (2) class means; and (3) deviations from class means. Class means produce a different structure, calling into question the usual robust factor structure of ratings. (SLD)

Sterling, Joan; Gray, Mary W. – Journal of Computers in Mathematics and Science Teaching, 1991
An experimental class in introductory statistics (n=40) using simulation software at American University was compared to a traditionally taught control group (n=36) with respect to achievement and accrued beliefs about the benefits of the simulations. Results indicate significantly higher achievement scores for the experimental class with about…

McDonald, R. Michael – Evaluation and Program Planning, 1991
A trilevel (macro, intermediate, and micro) analytical framework was used to determine problems in the organizational context that reduce or impede the application of training outcomes. A law enforcement job-skill training program was studied via survey responses of 322 course graduates. Factor analyses identified predictors of training use. (SLD)

Larson, James S. – Evaluation and the Health Professions, 1992
A new measure of health status, the Health Status Scale, is presented. This five-indicator scale is used as the dependent variable in a regression equation using six common predictors of health status. Results indicate that health facilities are the most significant predictors of health status. (SLD)

Ittenbach, Richard; And Others – American Journal on Mental Retardation, 1993
This study examined whether differences exist in the adjustment of young adults in community settings across levels of mental retardation for four dependent variables, using parametric multivariate analysis of variance, nonparametric multivariate analysis of variance, multiple nonparametric analyses of variance, and multinomial logistic…

Williams, Bryan L.; And Others – Evaluation and the Health Professions, 1993
A version of the randomized response survey unrelated question technique is presented in which the answer to the unrelated question is known to be yes. Raw data become a direct linear transformation of response to the sensitive question and can be used in analysis at the individual level. (SLD)
