Parallel analyses of effects of wife's social origin and educational attainment on husband's occupational attainment are presented for the two countries. The effects are very limited in the United States, but quite strong in Britain. Findings are discussed in light of expected differences in stratification systems of the two countries. (Author)

Goal of study was comparing alcoholic beverage buying habits of University of Delaware students with those of students at other colleges. Random sample of 639 was drawn from 13,000 undergraduates and interviews conducted. Drinking at Delaware was similar to that at other schools. Seniors spent significantly more on alcohol than freshmen. (Author)

Results show that the incentive group students, as compared with the control group students, obtained significantly higher verbal, performance, and full IQ scores. This suggests that norm-referenced tests as diagnostic placement aids must be used with caution. (Author)

An ongoing peer counseling program was studied. Results suggested two distinct service delivery systems. An informal system served large numbers of self-referred students and dealt primarily with personal-social problems. A formal system reached fewer students, relied upon staff referral, and addressed academic difficulties. (Author)

Students assessed a Special Educational Opportunity tutorial program and specified, when appropriate, their reasons for nonutilization.
