Hibner, Amelia Blanton
ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, Saint Louis University
This study investigates how the phenomena of vocational discernment is experienced by faculty members who have participated in Collegium's summer colloquy. Through this research, the researcher contributes to the literature and discussion regarding mission in Catholic higher education, faculty development, and the role of lay faculty in Catholic higher education by providing voice to these faculty and their experiences. In reviewing and analyzing the transcripts of interviews with participants, five themes emerged with subthemes in each larger theme. These themes help to illuminate the phenomena of vocational discernment as experienced by faculty members who have participated in Collegium's summer colloquy and to research questions that guided this study.
