A literature review prefaces the report of a study in which the aspects of job satisfaction and dissatisfaction identified by 327 principals in Alberta, Canada are compared with the findings of Herzberg and others. Limited support for Herzberg's hypotheses is found and focal points for further research are noted. (MJL)
