A study was undertaken to determine the nursery school's role in the transmission of sex role expectations. It was found that though the particular school observed was very committed to minimizing this type of socialization, a considerable amount nonetheless took place. (Author)

This study reveals that counselors are more perceptive of the principals' expectations than any other group. When counselors were compared with teachers, some 20 role conflicts were identified.
