A study to investigate correlates of professional activity of professors in retirement is discussed. Results of a national survey in which college department chairpersons ranked the competencies they thought necessary for their positions are presented. Chief student personnel administrators (CSPAs) were surveyed to examine the changes in student personnel administrative positions over the past 10 years. Changes were discovered in title, level of educational preparation, experience in the position, age, and the proportion of women to men. (RC)

Factors affecting job satisfaction and the impact of satisfaction on job performance were investigated to develop strategies for dealing with low job satisfaction. Results indicated that student affairs staff were satisfied with their current jobs, but did not feel that student affairs was considered important at their institutions. (RC)
