Statistics Attitude Survey (SAS) scores were significantly related to: (1) cognitive variables such as basic mathematics skills, statistics preknowledge, course grades; and (2) noncognitive factors such as sex, desire to take a course, previous math courses, course status, calculator attitudes, and course and instructor evaluations. Assessed the relationship of a measure of self-efficacy to posttreatment smoking status in 74 adults. End-of-treatment self-efficacy scores were significantly correlated with follow-up smoking status at 3-month and 6-month follow-up, but not at 1 year. Smoking during treatment was associated with lower end-of-treatment efficacy scores. (WAS)

Compared the Wonderlic Personal Test and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale for a sample of 30 adults first tested in 1976. The two tests were similar in reliability of clinical classification, but the Wonderlic demonstrated fewer practice effects. Despite its ease of administration, Wonderlic intelligence estimates appear stable. (Author/JAC)

A followup study of 47 young adults who had been labeled LD (learning disabled) and 59 non-LD subjects revealed similar employment status, although LD subjects had a significantly lower mean job status; were less active in social affairs; and reported less satisfaction with their secondary school education. Findings support Koppitz's assertion that the total error score for the Bender Gestalt Test is stable and reliable.
