A study involving 102 high school students (49 males and 53 females) from Taiwan revealed that the order of response scale labels had a primacy effect on subjects' choices of the alternatives in Likert-type attitude scales. Geometric approaches to representing interrelations among tests and items are compared with an additive tree model (ATM), using 2,644 examinees and 2 other data sets. Basic Skills Assessment Program reading scores for all South Carolina students in grades 1-3 and 6 were analyzed. Failure to meet state standards was higher among younger, male, Black, and lunch-subsidized students. The Computer Attitude Scale was adapted for use with Turkish university students. Translation to Turkish and back to English established the scale. A revision of the Sutter-Eyberg Student Behavior Inventory (S. Eyberg and D. Pincus, in press), a teacher rating scale of conduct behavior problems at school, was completed by 38 teachers for 726 students in grades 5 through 12.
