Studied the concurrent and predictive validity of the Career Decision Scale administered to 206 seniors. Rated students' descriptions of their career decisions. A year later, students were surveyed by telephone about career decisions. Determined factor scores taken during the senior year were good predictors of student decisions. (Author/RC)

Compared the subtest and IQ scores obtained by learning disabled and retarded children and youth on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (Revised) after a two-year time interval. Stability coefficients were obtained. The evidence indicated the WISC-R provides stable full-scale IQs. (Author)

The resource room intervention was effective for increasing reading rates of LD children but the increased rates did not appear to be maintained in the regular classrooms. The group with the shortest stay in the resource room made significantly greater rate gains during treatment and continued during follow-up to learn at a higher rate. (Author)

Previous research found that an innovative educational program had a negative effect on participants' personality development. For the replication, control subjects increased their scores on three out of 19 scales while program praticipants' scores remained the same. The data indicate the appropriateness of using the Strong-Campbell Interest Inventory with adolescents and young adults. Test-retest correlations were substantial. A large percentage of adolescents and young adults have stable interest patterns throughout their educational careers. Stability of measured interests is not universal. (Author)

Expressed vocational choices correctly predicted actual occupations 2 years after high school for 38 percent of the total sample. When certainty level was added to expressed choice, prediction rates were 43 percent for very sure choosers, 38 percent for fairly sure choosers, and 28 percent who were not sure. (Author)
