Citizen readiness to participate in the reduction of solid waste problems was investigated, using environmental knowledge, environmental concern, and public willingness to act as possible predictors of readiness. The findings indicate a need for more satisfactory ways of determining when an individual has achieved a state of readiness. (BT)
