Examined the stability of depressive symptoms in children as measured by peer, self, and teacher ratings over a six-month period. Presents counselor role expectations registered by teachers in 1972 and 1980 from two school systems. Results showed teachers were more certain of the counselor's role in 1980, although 35 percent were still undecided. Examined one-year follow-up data on a cognitive-behavioral treatment. Improvements were found for subjects in all treatment groups, and these effects were attributed to increased age. A follow-up was made of the welfare payments received by welfare clients who had received job-finding counseling. At the six-month follow-up, welfare payments had been reduced by about one-half for the Job Club clients vs. 15 percent for the control group. (Author)

Higher mean IQ scores were obtained on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC) compared to the revised version (WISC-R). The WISC-R had a facilitative effect on the WISC that did not appear when the WISC was administered first. Differences in instructions may have enhanced the practice effect. (Author/JAC)
