For a sample of 270 students who sought on their own initiative counseling on academic, career, vocational, and personal matters at a university counseling and testing center, intercorrelations of their responses to 20 statements on the Evaluation of Counselors Scale were factor-analyzed. This study attempted to assess the effects of three variables: recruiter's age, title, and presentation, on students' impressions of campus job recruiters. A remedial self-study course in physics has been successfully developed at Nottingham University through repeated evaluations and modifications in such areas as testing and course organization. The meaning of CBTE to the foreign language profession as a whole, to secondary school foreign language teachers, students preparing to be teachers, and college faculty is discussed. Students keep a diary of reactions to any course ideas which are personally significant and comment on class lectures, relevant newspaper articles, television, films, and experiences.
